Where Reolink TrackMix PoE fits
TrackMix uses two views to address a common PTZ problem: operators want context and a closer look at the subject at the same time. It can present a wide view alongside a digitally tracked close view while the body pans and tilts.
Reolink documents 355-degree pan, 90-degree tilt, up to 64 presets and selectable tracking methods. That flexibility is useful, but more configuration also means more ways to create surprising behaviour around overlapping people, vehicles or obstructions.
PoE and scheduled or continuous recording make this more suitable for permanent coverage than battery PTZ products. A microSD slot supports up to 512 GB, though an NVR remains easier to manage for long retention and multiple cameras.
No PTZ should be the only record of a critical direction. If the camera follows a vehicle, the gate behind it may be unseen. Pair it with fixed cameras for the entrance, till or other must-record view.
An inventive tracking camera for yards and driveways, but fixed overview coverage should still protect critical paths.
